Check out the new Glade® Expressions™ Fragrance Mist & Oil Diffuser!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Triad Retail Media for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Walmart.com - Glade Expressions Air Fresheners

I have been using Glade® products in my home for years.  I have really liked the Glade® Fabric & Air Mist™ the most – it helps keep the smell of wet dog at bay!  Glade® has a new line of products called Glade® Expressions™ that I’m looking forward to trying. There is a new Glade® Expressions™ fragrance mist and a new Glade® Expressions™ oil diffuser that come in amazing new scents.  When I initially saw these products, I was struck by how stylish the containers are.  There have been some products out there that I simply wouldn’t buy because they don’t fit with my décor at home.  However, I wouldn’t mind having the Fragrance Mist in my kitchen and the Oil Diffuser on the mantel of my family room.  Actually, I can think of a number of places where I would like to place an Oil Diffuser in my home!

Walmart.com - Glade Expressions Air Fresheners

The fragrance scents available include Pineapple & Mangosteen, Cotton & Italian Mandarin (only available in the Fragrance Mist), Fuji Apple & Cardamom Spice, and Lavender & Juniper Berry.  I think I’m most interested in trying the Pineapple & Mangosteen and the Lavender & Juniper Berry.  The Glade® Expressions™ scents are long-lasting!  For the Fragrance Mist, you simply squeeze the bottle to activate the spray.  The Oil Diffuser is a non-electric diffuser that lasts for 30 days!  Once your Glade® product needs to be refilled, you can refill it with any Glade® fragrance scent.  Your fragrance satisfaction is guaranteed for both products.  If you happen to be unsatisfied with your product, you can fill out the form here.
There is a coupon right now for $1.50 off of any Glade® Expressions™ that can be used at any Walmart!
The combination of my dog and the trash can makes for an unpleasant smell sometimes.  I'm looking forward to trying these great new products!

Couple Night In Gift Set Review & $50 Gift Certificate to Uncommon Goods Giveaway!

Photobucket

As so many couples do, my husband and I are exhausted at the end of the day. However, we know it’s important to spend quality time together, just the two of us. We need to make a conscious effort to turn of the television and just focus on each other.

We rarely have the opportunity to get a babysitter and go out on the weekend, so we need to be creative at home. For this reason, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review the Couples Night In Gift Set, which is available at Uncommon Goods. Included in this gift set are Wine Cork Candles (Set of 12), a 12 Ways To Say I Love You Journal, and Love Tokens (Set of 10). This gift set helps you create atmosphere and encourages communication, appreciation, and affection!

My husband travels often overseas, so I needed to wait to do the review when he was in town (obviously..:)) On our “Night In”, we popped open our bottle of wine and when it was finished, I placed one of the Wine Cork Candles in. These are really cute! I dimmed the lights and the wine bottle with the candle looked beautiful!

While my husband was away on his business trip, I spent quite a bit of time writing in my 12 Ways To Say I Love You Journal in order to give it to my husband on our “Night In”. This journal is so sweet – it provides you with particular prompts, such as “My favorite way to spend a day with you is…” and “I don’t tell you this enough but…” It also provides a page with a small little enveloped attached to it in which you can place a love letter. Those who know my husband know that he is not as sentimental as I am, but I have to tell you, he certainly appreciated this journal. He smiled from ear to ear to hear what I had to say.

The Love Tokens are nice because you don’t have to just use them on a “night in” with the one you love. You could use a love token anytime! These love tokens include 2 tokens each hugs, kisses, breakfast in bed, massages, and rolls in the hay. Just choose your token and cash in!

Any married couple knows that marriage takes work. You need to make time for each other, but you also need to make it quality time. Turn of the T.V. and turn off the computer. Try a “Couples Night In” Gift Set!

Uncommon Goods has truly unique gifts for husband and cool gift ideas for wife.  They also have beautiful heart gifts that are great for family and friends!  Uncommon Goods has gifts that aren't found in your local store.  I encourage you to to visit their website and take a look!

I am so pleased to have the opportunity to host a giveaway for a $50.00 Gift Certificate to Uncommon Goods! This is an awesome prize, so enter today! Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter.

The Birthday Chronicle Review

Photobucket

My son’s birthday is fast approaching. I can’t believe he is going to be two years old. Where has the time gone? It seemed like just yesterday….As I think back to that time, the details of that year are kind of fuzzy. I can only remember the details of my pregnancy and the excitement of my little man coming.

The Birthday Chronicle is a one-page (8 ½” x 11”) personalized newspaper that details the events of any particular day you choose. By providing a name, date, and headline, you can receive a newspaper that provides the details of that special day and the events that were occurring around that time.

Once I provided this information, I received an email almost immediately. I was very impressed with this speed! I chose to personalize this newspaper for my son’s 2nd birthday. Some of the main facts included on the newspaper are the weather for that day, the major headlines for the world at that time, the news in sports, a list of celebrities that share the same birthday, and the music songs that were popular at the time. This is such a great keepsake for his baby book! I think he will appreciate reading this someday – I know I am eager to purchase them for my other family members.

The Birthday Chronicle is created by BecauseITriedIt.com. This company is proud to offer “Personalized Gifts for Anyone, Anytime”! The Birthday Chronicle makes a great gift for a family member or friend. For an additional fee, you can order your newspaper to be sent with a black frame so it can be displayed for everyone!
BecauseITriedIt.com offers free items from time to time. If you would like to make sure you hear about these free items in time, please consider following them!

Receive their newsletter and follow them on Twitter ,Facebook, and Klout!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Want to sell on Ebay? Join The Auction Moms!

Photobucket
It is well documented on here that I have been on an organizing mission in my household for the past year. I am proud to say that there isn’t one area that I haven’t tackled and cleaned out. The amazing result of this success is the sheer amount of belongings that had to be donated, thrown out, and sold. Due to my slight (ok, not so slight) OCD, I wanted these items out of my house as soon as possible. Therefore, I donated them or gave them away. I do constantly think to myself, “Imagine the amount of money I could have made if I sold this stuff!” I have only sold a few things on Ebay. I’ll be honest – I underestimated the cost of shipping and handling fees, so I didn’t really make enough money on these sales. I would love some guidance on how to make the use of Ebay efficiently.

The Auction Moms is a website that provides assistance to moms who sell on Ebay. It has a forum where women can find support and be taught the “ins and outs” of selling on Ebay. This forum is comprehensive and covers every factor of selling. You can even receive a free Ebay template, which makes your page look more professional.

The Auction Moms also has a 10 Day Challenge which declares that The Auction Moms can have you selling on Ebay and making money in as little as 10 minutes per day for 10 days. It walks you through the process of creating an Ebay account, creating a Paypal account, and how to list your products. Each month, a different mom is featured, which provides a great advertising opportunity.

Don't miss out on the opportunity to see on Ebay because you don't know how to use it properly.  Join The Auction Moms and start earning money!

Book Review: The Barefoot Executive by Carrie Wilkerson

Photobucket

I have worked in the field of mental health for the past fifteen years. There have been many highlights to working with children and families; however, within this past year, I have seriously begun to question what I am doing with my career. I have weighed the pros and cons and have yet to come to a decision about the next step in my life or simply answer the questions, “Do I need to make a change?” and “Should I work from home?” I began my small jewelry business years ago and have sold pieces through my website; however, it is a side business to my full-time job and raising two kids, taking care of my family, and maintaining our home.

I was eager to read The Barefoot Executive: The Ultimate Manual for Being Your Own Boss and Achieving Financial Freedom, written by Carrie Wilkerson, in the hopes that it would give me some tips/advice on my dilemma. As the title of the book states, The Barefoot Executive is a book that provides information to readers about becoming financially independent. It assists readers by asking important thought-provoking questions, which guide them through the process of figuring how to achieve financial independence using their knowledge and skill set. Personal stories as well as stories of other successful individuals are used to support the main ideas discussed. In addition, links to online videos are provided so readers can listen to Wilkerson talk about these main ideas.

I have been thinking about this next step in my life so much that it’s overwhelming me. The Barefoot Executive has given me a framework so I can structure my thoughts. This helps immensely. There are so many sections of the book that resonated with me, particularly the mistakes I have made. One of the key points that hit home for me was when Carrie Wilkerson discusses the importance of not just chasing the million dollar idea and discounting the ideas that generate a little money at a time. There are plenty of other opportunities that can generate income in smaller amounts. The money can add up and I can gain more experience along the way. Wilkerson also discusses the importance of not “chasing too many rabbits”. If you are attempting to focus on too many projects, you’re most likely not going to be able to make the progress you wish. You need to give more time to one project in order for it to truly succeed. This has been so true for me. I tend to take on more than I should in the hopes that I can make it all work. This is partially the reason why I closed down my main jewelry website and I am just selling some pieces on Etsy.

The Barefoot Executive is an essential resource for people such as myself who need to structure their thoughts, develop a clear understanding of their goals, and plan for their future.  I believe that Carrie Wilkerson is an amazing testament that hardwork pays off and you can be successful if you have the right framework.  Now, I need to get to work on following her advice!
More about the author:
Carrie Wilkerson has become a major resource for thousands of people in the world of business.  As an author and speaker, she has motivated people to achieve their dreams.  She uses her personal story to demonstrate to others that success is possible.  She is a wife and mother of four children.

Fabulous Daily Deals at nomorerack.com!

I love daily deal sites.  I can’t believe some of the products that I have seen on daily deal sites and the ridiculously low prices that are listed.  Nomorerack.com is a daily deal site that lists 8 new deals as well as a charity deal every day at 12pm.  There are products for men, women, and children, including clothing, electronics, jewelry, magazines, items for the home, and more.

I have often wondered how they score amazing products and how they are able to sell them at such low prices.  I learned from their website that they obtain their products from cancelled orders, manufacturer closeouts, and overstock products.  If you visit their website, you can create a profile and receive an email every day to inform you of the daily deals that were just posted.  There are some deals that are called “Insanity Deals” because the prices are insanely low – 80% - 95% off the retail price!  I looked at some of the previous deals that were listed and I can’t believe what I have missed – an Apple iPad 2 for only $43.20!  I can’t believe I missed it….

An additional bonus to purchasing from nomorerack.com is that there is a flat $2.00 shipping rate.  I think this is a huge plus.  I had assumed that although you purchased an item at a low price, you would still have to pay high shipping fees, but I was wrong.  Nice!

I was impressed by the fact that nomorerack.com has a charity deal program.  A different charity is sponsored each month and a portion of the proceeds from the daily charity deal is given to this charity.  I think this is amazing.  I noticed on the top of the website that this week is MS week and that $1 from each charity deal sold will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.  This hit home for me.  My uncle and a good friend are battling MS.  I also had a cousin who died from MS.  It is a charity that is very near and dear to my heart.  Thank you so much to nomorerack.com for contributing!

Book Review: I'm Not Tired Yet!

Photobucket

As parents, we hear every excuse in the world from our kids about why they can’t go to bed. My daughter and son have certainly given me every line in the book over the years. Bedtime stories are a great way to help your little one settle in for the night as well as give you some quality time together. “I’m Not Tired Yet!”, written and illustrated by Marianne Richmond, is a great book to read with children, both those that fall right to sleep as well as the “sleep fighters”. I’m Not Tired Yet! is the story of Ralphie Mix, his many excuses of why he cannot yet go to sleep, and how his mother responds to his excuses.

This story is adorable. Ralphie’s excuses are the typical excuses a child gives for not being able to go to sleep; however, I just loved his mother’s responses! The illustrations that accompanied are sweet and made my children laugh. Many parents, including myself at times, are frustrated by the bedtime ritual and the struggle that it can be. This book is such a sweet way to respond to children. You can get through the excuses and end the day on a happy note with your children. What child wouldn’t want a caterpillar tickle or a bear hug? I know my children love them and I’m sure yours do too!

About the Author: Marianne Richmond has touched the lives of millions for nearly two decades through her award-winning books, greeting cards, and other gift products that offer people the most heartfelt way to connect.

*Disclaimer: I did not receive monetary compensation for this post. I received a free copy of this book through the Family Review Network for the purpose of this review. The opinions expressed here are my own.

Book Review & Giveaway: The Snow Child

Photobucket

Jack and Mabel have moved to Alaska in 1920 to escape the heartache of losing a baby. They struggle to cope with this loss while establishing their farm and simply put food on the table. On the night of the first snowfall, Jack and Mabel impulsively create a snow child. The next morning, the snow child is gone. However, there are tracks leading away from the spot within the snow. Within a couple of days, a little girl appears who is wearing the hat and mittens that had been placed on the snow child. Jack and Mabel develop a relationship with the little girl, named Faina, and ultimately, come to love her as a daughter. The Snow Child, written by Eowyn Ivey, is the story about Jack and Mabel’s love for Faina and what they learn about her.

I was drawn into the mystery of this story right from the beginning. I was intrigued by Faina’s character and couldn’t wait to learn more about her. Was she the snow child that Jack and Mabel made? If not, who was she and how could she survive in the Alaskan wilderness all by herself?? I tried to imagine myself living in the middle of nowhere in Alaska in 1920 and couldn’t relate to the hardship of Jack and Mabel, let alone Faina! Losing two babies myself in the past, I could relate to Jack and Mabel’s intense grief and how they quickly felt the need to care for Faina. This is a wonderfully written story that will keep you glued to the end.

The Snow Child may be purchased on Amazon or at Barnes & Noble.

About the Author: Eowyn LeMay Ivey was raised in Alaska and continues to live there with her husband and two daughters. She worked for nearly ten years as a reporter at the Frontiersman newspaper, where she won several awards. She is now a bookseller at an independent bookstore in Alaska.

I have three copies of The Snow Child to give away! Please complete the Rafflecopter form below to enter.

Huggies Little Movers Slip-On Diapers Review & Giveaway! Two Winners!

Photobucket
My son has been having his diaper changed now for almost two years and he still often cries. He simply doesn’t like to be pulled away from what he is doing for the change. If he sees me walk into the room with a diaper in my hand, he runs! Sometimes it’s a game to him and he’s laughing and other times, he is trying to outrun the inevitable.

I was thrilled to hear that Huggies has developed the Little Movers Slip-On Diapers for kids such as my son. Huggies understands that not all kids want their diapers changed and the changing needs to occur quickly! I was curious whether the Slip-On diapers would be easier to use with my son and whether they were dependable to maintain leaks.

Photobucket

I used the Slip-On diapers with my son for a week. These diapers are awesome! They slip on and off so easily! My diaper changing used to take longer because I was fiddling with the sides to make sure the diaper was on properly and snug. However, with the Slip-On diapers, I slide them on and my son is ready to go. As far as nighttime goes, the diapers certainly held up and there were no leaks at all.

One really cool feature of the Slip-On diapers is the sides do actually detach if you want them to and re-attach just as easily. I wasn’t aware of this when I first received the diapers and I was a little concerned about the mess I was going to have when my son had a bowel movement. I was SO relieved to see the sides could still detach if needed.

Huggies would like to announce their brand new Huggies YouTube channel – http://www.youtube.com/huggies. You can visit this channel and create your own Huggies Little Movers Slip-On Diaper commercial! Celebrities, such as Melissa Rycroft, Tia Mowry, and Emily Procter have done this as well!

I am thrilled to be able to host a giveaway for Huggies! TWO Tidbits From A Mom readers will have the opportunity to win a set of Huggies Little Movers Lip-On Diapers as well as an adorable magnetic frame for your fridge so you can display your adorable “Little Mover”. Please fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter.

Prophecy of the Flame Book Tour & Kindle Contest!

In a blinding flash of light, five nondescript strangers are yanked from this world and thrust into a land of sorcery. Transformed into the characters they were pretending to be; Archmage Reba, Jamison the healer, Jerik the dwarf, Charles the prince charming, and Allinon the druid elf blend twentieth century technology with the supernatural powers of this new world.

This band of wannabe heroes soon discovers that having the powers you have always dreamed of, does not make life a dream come true. The Crusaders of the Light struggle to form a cohesive band as they fight to liberate the kingdom of Cuthburan from the evil horde threatening humanity.

Battle is also waged within Reba, an ordinary housewife who has become the most powerful mage on the planet, as she struggles to remain true to her wedding vows. Drawn against her will to the arms of Prince Alexandros, Reba must choose between the prophesied marriage to a handsome prince in a
magical world or returning to the husband she left behind.

I had the opportunity to read Prophecy of the Flame this past month.  I do not typically read epic fantasies, but I was curious.  I was a fan of the Lord of the Rings movies, so I thought I would give Prophecy of the Flame a try.  I was quickly drawn in to the story and I really liked Reba's strong character.  I found this to be a quick read and I'm glad I asked to review it.

This book is being made into a MOVIE!! Hollywood Helps Charity! Proceeds from book sales and the movie will go to help the Homeless.  I was so happy to hear that this is happening.  Homelessness is such a huge problem in this country.  I wish there were more opportunities for people to contribute to support efforts.

Buy the Prophecy of the Flame on Kindle, and Paperback. Remember you are helping Charity too!
Give to KickStarter Hollywood Helps Homeless Families Event (& get the book!!)

Lynn Hardy is teaming up with Promotional Book Tours to give away a Kindle ($79 Amazon Giftcode).  Complete the Rafflecopter form below to enter!

Recording Dilemma

Author: Jonathan Suarez

My husband is always recording shows that I don’t want to watch on television. With our old cable television service we were always in an argument about what we were going to watch because he wanted to watch his programs in the den where everyone else wanted to watch something else. But ever since we got satellite television service through www.tvbydirect.com, he is able to record a show in the den and then watch it in another room in the house. This has probably kept us from having a lot more arguments. I mean really I don’t understand how a man his age can like watching shows like Dancing with the Stars. He can’t even dance a step. Maybe he is just living vicariously through the people on the show. Whatever his deal is, I don’t have to participate in his vicarious fantasy. So if there are more people than just me wanting to watch something in the den, then my husband goes to another room. Now if it is just the two of us, then we take turns. I know I have a lot of programs that he doesn’t like to watch either. So to be fair, I take my turn elsewhere to keep the peace.

Babadoo Designs Personalized Stationery Cards Review & Giveaway

Sponsored by Tomoson.com
There are a number of reasons why I adore personalized stationery. It allows you to make a statement, be more professional, and cause the recipients to “ooh” and “aah”. I enjoy playing around with designs and the personalization details to see what I can create.

I have had the pleasure of reviewing a number of different paper products over the past year and a half, including business cards, thank you cards, invitations, note cards, etc. I recently had the opportunity to review personalized stationery cards from Babadoo Designs. Babadoo Designs is a company that really stands out to me. The designs available are directly taken from original watercolor paintings and will not be found on any other site. I really love finding unique products and the fact that these designs are unique to Babadoo Designs is a plus for me. The designs are adorable and clever. There are so many that I would love to own. Frankly, I wish I could say, “I’ll take one of each please!” Another wonderful fact about Babadoo Designs is that 100% of recycled card stock is used. How awesome – I love finding “green” companies!

I was sent four “Magnolia” Personalized Stationery Cards to review. These cards are simply lovely and I look forward to giving them to friends. I was struck by the quality of the paper. The color is beautiful and the paper itself isn’t flimsy. I was so impressed overall.

The cards measure 4.25” x 5.5” and can be purchased in varying increments. You are given numerous font and ink colors from which to choose in order to personalize your stationery completely to your wishes. In addition to the note cards that I reviewed, you may also purchase invitations, announcements, photo cards, and personalized shirts.

Check out some of the adorable designs that I found below:

Oransi Robby Wash Laundry Ball Review & Giveaway

Photobucket

My husband and I have been really trying to cut down our grocery bill, but frankly, it has not been going very well. I have read posts about couponing, watched videos, read circulars, visited numerous coupon sites (catching computer viruses along the way ) and we haven’t made a significant dent in our bill. There are different factors that play in to why, but I won’t bore you with the details here.

I dread the weeks when I need to buy laundry detergent. I think that I could definitely decrease the number of loads that I wash in a week by letting the piles build up a little bit. However, I really try to stay on top of the wash so that I am not overwhelmed and spending my entire Saturday doing laundry. Because I run more washes, I am using more laundry detergent than I like. I was intrigued when I heard about the Robby Wash Laundry Ball – a little laundry ball that can last up to one year or 120 loads of washes. Needless to say, I was eager to review it!

Photobucket

When I received the ball, I have to admit, I was a little bit skeptical. How can this little ball last so long? Would it truly clean my clothes? Would it irritate my children’s skin? I would just have to test it out and see for myself.

I used the ball with a load of towels for the initial test. It was pretty nice just tossing the ball into the washer with the towels and not having to measure any liquid. When both the washing cycle was over and the towels were dry, I was pleasantly surprised. I was also pleased when no rashes appeared on anyone in my family.

I began washing my husband’s and my clothes with the ball and then lastly, my children’s clothes. Our clothes are clean, smell nice, and I haven’t needed to purchase laundry detergent. Aahhh…saving money. It feels good!

More about the Oransi Robby Wash Ball:
- 10 ounces of Robby Wash ball replaces 75 lbs. of traditional laundry detergent - environmentally friendly.
- One Robby Wash ball lasts up to 12 months. The ball itself will last 3 years.
- One Robby Wash ball will save more than $100+ over 120 washes.
- One RobbyWash ball is only $32.95 and lasts one year. This includes refills.
- It is eco-friendly, hypoallergenic and safe - commonly used in Europe with baby laundry (as well as adults' laundry).
- Third party tested, proven and guaranteed to clean better than traditional powder laundry detergent.

I am pleased to be able to host a giveaway for the Robby Wash Ball!  One Tidbits From A Mom reader will win a Robby Wash Ball pack.  Please fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter.

Find Website Hosting Providers Through Webhostinggeeks.com

I have maintained my website for my small jewelry business for several years now.  I fully admit that I knew nothing about maintaining a website when I first began.  I found my website host through a google search.  There was no comparison shopping and I was naive about plan features.  After these past five years, I have become knowledgeable about maintaining my site and the essential features needed.  Despite the fact that it is an incredible amount of work, I am ready to move my domain to another host.  I feel more confident in finding the right website hosting provider through the assistance of Web Hosting Geeks.

Web Hosting Geeks provides people with reviews and ratings of the best website hosting providers.  They provide information about plan prices, features, and customer feedback.  Instead of searching the web and trying to compare and analyze the information you find, Web Hosting Geeks lays all the information out in front of you.  This will certainly help make the decision process easier!

In addition to the above, Web Hosting Geeks also provides awards for numerous "Best" categories. For example, an award is given for Best Budget Hosting, Best Ecommerce Hosting, and Best Blog Hosting, to name a few.  In visiting each of these pages, I learned a great deal about the sites that are out there.  I have a great deal more to read in order to make my informed decision.  However, I have significantly less anxiety than I did when I first began to consider making this transition.

BabyGanics "The Germinator" Alcohol Free Foaming Hand Sanitizer Review

Photobucket

My hands are ridiculously dry during the winter months.  Working in an elementary school, I am with students throughout my day.  Do you know how many kids don't use tissues??  It's amazing!  I scrub my hands throughout the day so I can lessen the chance that I might catch something and/or bring these germs home to my family.  Then, once home, I am giving my kids their baths, washing dishes, and then washing my hands again after changing my son's diapers.  In addition to regular hand soap, at times I also use hand sanitizer.  This takes a toll on my hands and results in dryness that at times, can even hurt.
My family and I have had the opportunity to review BabyGanics Foaming Hand Sanitizer.  This hand sanitizer is alcohol free, has a moisturing formula, and kills 99.9% of germs.  BabyGanics uses benzalkonium chloride, which is natural and safe.  I was pleasantly surprised by BabyGanics Hand Sanitizer.  I really like the fact that it is alcohol free and doesn't contribute to drying out my hands, but actually has a moisturizing formula to counteract the dryness.  I also loved the fact that it doesn't have the overwhelming smell.  This sanitizer was "Tangerine" scented - a light scent, barely noticeable.  Lastly, it kills 99.9% of germs!  Without the alcohol!  This is impressive.  I believe I will definitely be placing bottles of BabyGanics Hand Sanitizer on my desk at work and within each bathroom of my home :)

In addition to the tangerine scent, this hand sanitizer is also available in fragrance free.  It retails for $6.99 (250ml) and can be purchased online at www.babyganics.com and nationwide at all Babies R Us, Bed Bath & Beyond and Buy Buy Baby locations.
*Disclaimer: I did not receive monetary compensation for this post.  I received a free product for the purpose of this review.  The opinions expressed here are my own.

Book Review & Giveaway: Fit Moms for Life

Photobucket

Until recently, I was the epitome of “burnout”. Working full-time, taking care of the kids, cooking, cleaning, etc. became too much. My husband came to my rescue with the cooking and has been tremendous, but that was still only one piece. I needed to recover my energy and take life “by the horns” again.

My husband and I are now on a determined mission to get our bodies and our minds as healthy as possible. We have been eating healthy for some time now, but the exercise department was completely lacking. I often excused myself from exercising because I didn’t “have the time” or “it’s too late to exercise after the kids go to bed”. I had to come to the realization that this time after the kids go to bed is the only time that I can exercise and I need to embrace that time. However, I need to make the most of the short period of time.

It must have been divine intervention that I was approached to do a review for “Fit Moms for Life: How to Have Endless Energy to Outplay your Kids”. This review could not have come at a better time. Written by Dustin Maher, “Fit Moms for Life” showcases the success stories for over thirty mothers that have lost weight and gotten fit by following Dustin Maher’s advice. This book discusses the do’s and don’ts of dieting and exercise but also some major points that many people are not aware of, such as:
Traditional Cardio Doesn’t Lose Fat
  • You Can’t Work Out to Compensate for Poor Eating
  • See Results 9 Times Faster With Burst Training
  • Learn ONE Exercise That Shrinks a Waistline WITHOUT diet changes
  • Burn Fat While You Sleep
  • A Healthy Environment Equals A More Fit Family
I have reviewed several types of diet books and this is the first diet book that I have found that really speaks to me as a mom.  Dustin Maher is motivational and does an excellent job explaining health, the basics of dieting and exercise, as well as teaching moms to focus on improving their whole self.  Maher provides food suggestions and discusses how you can teach your child to be a healthy eater as well.  The exercises that are taught in the book are easy to do and I love the fact that they can be done from the comfort of my own living room.

I like the fact that the success stories of so many women are incorporated throughout the book.  These ordinary women were able to achieve amazing goals, so why can't I?  I know that I don't need to lose weight, but I do have my own health and fitness goals.  I do have the goal of toning my muscles more and gaining overall strength and I believe this program can help me achieve this goal.  Whatever your goal may be, I think this book is certainly worth the read.

More about the Author:
Dustin Maher is a speaker, blogger, boot camp owner, and personal trainer. He has appeared almost 100 times on TV and has helped transform over 5,000 moms both in persona and through his 28 workout DVDs. He is the creator of Fit Moms for Life communities that are being formed around the world. Dustin’s mission is to empower and build up a community of one million moms by the end of 2015.

I am pleased to be able to host a giveaway for one Tidbits From A Mom reader to win a copy of Fit Moms for Life.  Please complete the Rafflecopter form below to enter.
